The town of Nelspruit, situated in a valley in the northeast of South Africa is the ideal base for excursions to the Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon, an African Cultural Village and numerous other attractions.  Nelspruit is the center of subtropical fruits (oranges, bananas, mangoes, avocados and other goodies) and the climate is very pleasant.

In summer (November to February) it is hot to sultry, with sometimes a thunderstorm. The winters (May to July) are dry. Nights can be cool then, but the days are often mild and sunny.

Your guide, Peter Verhaeghe,  welcomes you at Johannesburg airport and takes you to Nelspruit. There you will meet Frank and Martine Verbruggen, your hosts at  the guest house.  This is now your home and every night you can sleep here in your own bed.

 The spacious and comfortable rooms give out onto the courtyard and pool and have the following facilities, TV, minibar, coffee and tea maker, hair dryer, clock radio, air conditioning and a bathroom with shower.  Breakfast is included. Some shops and restaurants are within walking distance and during the week you can also dine in the guest house.

Here you can fully enjoy the climate, in the sun or shade and there is a pool for cooling. And do you want to go on a trip, Peter drives and guides you (if you arrange in advance of course).
Included are two day trips to the Kruger National Park, a day trip to the Panorama Route with Blyde River Canyon and visit to a Swazi Cultural Village.

The Kruger National Park is home to many large African animals. Peter takes you on safari in the bush and together you look for game. Make sure you have your camera at hand. Your guide is experienced and knows how to respond to wild animals. And he gives you  a lot of information on the park and its wildlife. After a day in the 'bush' you can spend the night back in your own bed!

The Panorama Route is situated on the edge of a high plateau overlooking the "lowveld", 800 meters below. Here, the Blyde River has cut a spectacular canyon, the third deepest in the world.

You can also admire a waterfall and stroll around in the shops of Graskop.

The Swazi's  live in Swaziland and part of them also in South Africa. In a Swazi Cultural Village, you are taken on a tour where you learn about their traditional culture. That means how they used to live in the past. Then follows an impressive song and dance performance. This group has built an international reputation with performances in Europe, United States and Brazil.
